THE HAIR KEEPSAKE
Are you the kind of parent who would keep their child’s hair from the first haircut, to remember how it was, and notice how it changes through the years?
Then this keepsake may be for you!
This is how I made my girls’ hair keepsakes. In the video below, I use gold ribbon instead of real hair for showing purposes! It’s so easy. Be careful and slow with the cut hair, especially if it’s curly or wavy, to prevent the hair strands from separating and losing the texture of the curls.
If you would like to make the same keepsakes that I made for my daughters, you can download, below, the illustrations of the background and the rocket or the butterfly, to print them at home and make your hair keepsakes.
This is a digital download: to make this beautiful hair keepsake—using a small bunch of hair, such as some of your child’s hair from their first haircut—you will receive the illustrations of the sky background and of the rocket in digital format (PDF), to print at home. You will also receive instructions on how to “build” this hair keepsake yourself!
Please click here to see a process video as well as frame recommendations to frame your hair keepsake. The digital file is a PDF that can be printed on letter size cardboard (8.5in x 11in).
