Pokidots youngest customer gets the trophy for creativity!

I was wrapping up my work day yesterday when I received an email from someone whose name I recognized as a customer from a couple of weeks ago. Except that the body of the email wasn’t from her at all; it was—I had just found out—from my actual customer who’s her 11-year-old daughter, Sadie.

I was so thrilled to read her words, and so surprised by the photos she sent me!

So here’s the story:

Sadie said she found the Football DIY keepsake style through Google and asked her mom to buy it for her. Sadie understood how the DIY styles are designed to be used, but, being an artist herself, she had a different plan. And it’s brilliant!

football artwork with watercolor as a gift for dad from daughter. custom gift for dad from daughter.

Instead of using fabric to complete the keepsake, Sadie used a watercolor abstract artwork she did, and used it on the Football keepsake to gift her dad.

In her words: “this is a watercolor I made [because] my dad loves my watercolor and he also loves football.”

She sent me photos of her finished and framed keepsake and it’s more lovely than words can describe. I was blown away in so many ways:

  1. That Sadie found the DIY keepsake by herself and understood what it was meant for,

  2. The thoughtfulness of combining her dad’s love of her watercolors and football with this keepsake to gift to him,

  3. How beautiful her work is and how perfect the whole framed piece ended up looking,

  4. That she had the initiative to do the whole thing and send me an email with photos!

I responded to Sadie’s email congratulating her on her wonderful work and brilliant idea, and also added a note to her mom, praising her daughter’s creativity and initiative.

This obviously made my entire month. Every now and then I am blown away by my customer’s ideas and creativity and the amazing new ways they are using the Pokidots custom and DIY keepsakes, and I’m so glad to be the base for all this joy.

I hope Sadie will update me on what her dad thought when she gives him his gift!
