Sketchbook Project 2012!
At last, 6 months after sending my Sketchbook, I am posting photos of it!
I have a good reason for waiting this long: When I signed up for the Sketchbook Project, I took the "digitization" feature that they offer at Art House Coop. In other words, I paid a few extra bucks to have my sketchbook professionally scanned. I sent out my finished sketchbook, and I waited, and I waited and waited for those scans, so I could post them... The scanning took so long! It was finally done a few weeks ago, but unfortunately it was not what I expected. The pages weren't properly flattened on the scanner, and the quality was not great. My own scans turned out to be better. Oh well!
The sketchbook theme that I chose was "It's summer where you are". The artwork idea was inspired by a couple of pages of my previous Sketchbook Project, where I used magazine photo cut-outs, glued them on the pages and continued them with a pen. Like this:

Pages from my Sketchbook Project 2011.
This year, however, I added some color, using Caran D'Ache watercolor crayons. It was my first time using watercolor crayons, and I liked them a lot. Obviously, the sketchbook paper is not ideal for watercolor, but I liked the wrinkled effect it gave the pages.
I also added thumbnails of the original magazine images, before I cut them and continued them as I pleased.
Enjoy! ☮
